Concise dictionary Information

The LORD bless you
and keep you;

By carefully studying the Bible and it's history, it is relatively simple to find that God's plan for redeeming mankind included the establishment of the spiritual kingdom (church) of Christ. Read and meditate upon the following scriptures showing that Jesus foretold of the establishment of His church, how and when it would come, and then the record of it's coming...with power! ( Matthew 16: 13-19 ) ( Mark 9: 1: ) ( John 14 ) ( John 15 ) ( John 16: 6-8 ) ( Acts 2 )

Jesus left the comforts and glory which He enjoyed in heaven and willingly lived in poverty and persecution for about 32 years. He did this without sinning! Then, he willingly gave His life...by the most horrendous method, that of crucifixion...in order to offer redemption unto lost mankind. You and me. He accomplished the mission He came for, that of establishing a safe haven, His body, His church, for those who will obey Him. In this spiritual kingdom are all spiritual blessings. And outside the kingdom, there are none.

So! How are the independent churches of Christ different than other churches? When the church was established, as Christ foretold the apostles that it would, on the first pentecost after He arose from the grave in A.D. 32, there were no Christian denominations...none. There were no club-like Christian religious organizations whatsoever. All people who believed and obeyed the commandments of Jesus Christ and His apostles were added to His church, by Him and that's it! No if's, and's or but's about it. That is still the way it is today. No further edicts, rules or regulations have been issued by God since that time. Those obedient people had their sins forgiven and they became "Christians". Nothing else. And if all do that today, all will be one, united in Jesus Christ. We will all be simply Christians, the name given by inspiration. And it is the only way we can ever be united in Christ, simply accepting what He says, nothing else.
